Teeth Grinding in Children

  • It’s common for children to grind their teeth at night, especially during growth and development.

  • Most kids outgrow this habit by age 6–9 as their bite and jaw alignment mature.

  • Occasional grinding is normal and usually doesn’t cause damage. However, if it happens often or sounds loud, it can lead to tooth wear, sensitivity, or jaw soreness.

  • Make sure your child gets enough rest, stays hydrated, and manages stress, as these can all contribute to grinding.
