Oral Hygiene
for Children Under 3

  • Brush your child’s teeth twice a day — after breakfast and before bedtime.

  • Start using fluoride toothpaste (e.g., Crest for Kids, Tom’s Fluoride for Children) as soon as the first tooth appears.

  • Use a soft, small-headed toothbrush designed for kids (e.g., Oral-B Kids). Replace it every 3 months or after your child has been sick.

  • Apply only a grain-of-rice-sized smear of toothpaste.

  • Floss the spots we’ve recommended once each night before bedtime. (Not every child needs flossing yet!)

  • If brushing is a struggle, ask BalloonDoc 🎈🦷 for creative ways to make brushing fun for everyone!

  • If you prefer to start with a non-fluoridated option, ask BalloonDoc for recommended products.
