Nerve Therapy for Baby Teeth

  • Sometimes a deep cavity can reach the nerve inside a baby tooth, causing pain, swelling, or sensitivity. In these cases, a pulp treatment (also called nerve therapy) helps save the tooth instead of removing it.

  • This procedure gently removes the infected or irritated part of the nerve, while keeping the healthy portion and the tooth’s roots in place.

  • At our office, we use MTA (Mineral Trioxide Aggregate) — the gold-standard material for pediatric nerve treatments.
It’s biocompatible, long-lasting, and safe, providing the best healing and long-term success for your child’s tooth.

  • After treatment, the tooth is usually protected with a stainless steel crown to keep it strong until it naturally falls out.

  • Pulp therapy helps your child chew comfortably, maintain space for adult teeth, and avoid early tooth loss.
